Moving Tips: How to Make Your Move Smooth and Stress-Free
Moving to a new home is an exciting adventure, but it can also be a source of stress and anxiety. With proper planning and organization, however, you can make your move smooth and stress-free.

Here are some essential tips to help you through the process
Start Early: Begin planning your move at least a month in advance. This will give you enough time to organize everything and avoid last-minute chaos.
Organize a Garage Sale: If you have items that are still in good condition but no longer needed, consider holding a garage sale or selling them online. (This is a great way to get funds back into your pocket)
Use Specialty Boxes: For fragile items like dishes, glasses, and electronics, use specialty boxes designed to provide extra protection. The last thing you want to find out is your favorite set of dishes grandma gave you have broken during the moving process
Pack an Essentials Box: Prepare a box with essential items you’ll need immediately upon arrival at your new home, such as toiletries, a change of clothes, important documents, and basic kitchen supplies. I personally include more frequent use items such as chargers, electronics, specific power cords (you do not want to get lost in the swamp) bedside items etc, and personal bathroom items. You will rest assured these items are not buried in the back of moving boxes and you will have quick access to these things upon moving in to your new home.
Research Moving Companies: If you decide to hire a moving company, do your research. Read reviews, get quotes, and check for proper licensing and insurance.

For a seamless and stress-free moving experience, I have used Moving Team Six multiple times and highly recommend Moving Team Six. They are known for their exceptional service, reliability, and professional approach to handling your belongings with care. With Moving Team Six, you can rest assured that your move will be in good hands.
Change of Address: Notify the post office, your bank, and other important institutions of your change of address. Don’t forget to update your address for any subscriptions and online shopping accounts. (This is one of the most important tasks I would add to your list of To-Dos to ensure a smooth and stress fee move). Inform Utilities, Schedule the disconnection of utilities at your current home and the connection at your new home. This includes electricity, water, gas, internet, and cable.
We know moving can become super stressful, especially during a selling and buying process, but moving doesn’t have to be a stressful experience. If you have any questions or need assistance with your move, feel free to reach out. We’re here to help!
Just remember by planning ahead and staying organized, you can ensure a smooth transition to your new home. Happy moving!
